Lauren + Mac’s Carolina Inn Wedding | Erin McLean Events | Chapel Hill Wedding Planner

Lauren envisioned a beautiful garden theme for her wedding day and there couldn’t have been a more perfect setting than the Carolina Inn in summertime. But Lauren + Mac didn’t just choose the Inn for its charm and beauty – they also had a sentimental reason, they met there! We loved the tying in the soft blush, pinks, and greens with the theme – it couldn’t have turned out more perfect!

This lovely cake by Sweet Memories bakery was the perfect fir with the garden party!

Terentia and Anthony’s Wedding at The Grandover | Erin McLean Events | Greensboro Wedding Planner

Terentia and Anthony were such a fun couple to work with! They planned the entire wedding from Arizona and it was amazing to be at The Grandover in Greensboro, NC to make sure that all the plans went smoothly the day of the wedding. Terentia was calm and flexible when we had to move the ceremony inside due to rain. The ceremony turned out beautifully, with Terentia’s godmother officiating the ceremony.2013-05-18

The couple chose to accent the room with purples, violets and indigos with a lavender uplighting which looked beautiful. The music was really unique at Terentia and Anthony’s wedding as an amazing jazz band played during the cocktail hour and the groom’s cousin DJ’ed the after-dinner dancing.

With Terentia belonging to a sorority, during the reception all of the girls surrounded her and sang a sorority song. Then Anthony and the men from his fraterntiy did the same. At the end, Anthony got down on his knee and sang the last verse of the song solo to his new bride. By the end, she had tears in her eyes – it was a really sweet moment.View More:

EME Welcomes Karen Lee to the Team!

DSCN2045 (1)

We are so excited to announce that Karen will be joining the Erin McLean Events family! We love her fun energy and enthusiasm and we are excited for what she will bring to the team.

 1.     What did you want to be when you grew up?

After I found out that I couldn’t be a mermaid, I wanted to be a chef.

2.     What makes you good at your job?

I’m very detail-oriented and good at editing. I can usually spot a typo at a quick glance.

3. What do you love most about planning weddings?

Unexpected details. I like finding ways to make things pretty and interesting with props and decorations that others maybe wouldn’t have thought of using.

4. What is one thing people might not know about you?

I love online shopping so much that I usually have to go to my apartment’s office at least 3 times a week to pick up packages.

5. What do you love about NC?

As someone who enjoys the mountains and the beach equally, I love the NC has both and I can get to either in just a few hours. Almost all of my family is here, too, so that doesn’t hurt.

We are so excited to welcome Karen. If you are planning to attend The Sutherland Bridal Showcase tonight, come and find us and say Hi!

It’s Your Day!
A Complimentary Wedding Seminar

Do you know what it takes to prepare for your wedding? Join us at Cute Buttons Gift and Paper Boutique for a complimentary wedding seminar on Sunday, March 29th from 2-4 p.m. You will hear about strategies on how to expand your budget during these economic times for your big day! Seating is limited, so hurry and R.S.V.P to See you there!

How do I cut costs?

I often get asked, what is the best way to cut cost for your wedding? There is always one answer:

Cut your guest list.

The more people you invite to your wedding the more money you’ll spend over all. The more guests means:

  • More invitations to be mailed
  • More food to serve
  • More tables and linens and china to rent
  • More cocktail napkins, matchbooks, and other details

So when you’re planning your wedding, draw up your guest list first to see how many people you are planning on inviting. Then look at your budget and see if you can afford to have all of these people at your wedding. If you have to cut the list, better to do this early before you send out save-the-date cards and book a location.

Happy Valentines Day!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful valentines day!! If you are planning a wedding I hope you took the night off of planning and enjoyed time with your fiance.

Remember to give yourself a break from time to time 🙂

Modern Romance on Etsy

I love Etsy! There are some great vendors and such great unique items. I have found the vendor Modern Romance. They make such gorgeous and unique dupioni silk accessories. They are prices reasonably from $22 – $98.

Big flowers have so transcended Carrie Bradshaw!

This purse is the perfect size for carrying all the wedding day essentials!

If you don’t want to wear a veil or if you want to take if out for the reception how gorgeous is this??

Purple and Gray Weddings

How much do I love Purple and Gray together? Let me count the ways…

I love everything about this combination. Gray is going to be a HUGE trend in 2009 and 2010. It is so versatile. You can use it to accent with yellow, navy, pink, greens, and so much more. I will definitely be posting more combinations soon! I love jewel tones, I am obsessed with them!

Here is an inspiration board I put together.

Oh Vera, you never do me wrong! This dress is sensational and sets the whole look and feel of the wedding!

I think this dress by Kenneth Pool is divine.

The men can be so very dapper in this classic tux (Shirt; both by Isaia. Bow tie; Pocket square: both by Brooks Brothers. Shoes by Calvin Klein Collection. Cuff links by Dunhill.)

Pretty in Pink Cherry Blossoms!

When I was living in DC my favorite time of year was Cherry Blossom season. So it makes sense that I love Pink and Brown weddings! I think it is the softness of a pale pink accented with a harsher chocolate brown. I put together these story boards for all things Cherry blossom related!

These are some fabulous letterpress
invitations (top right) from Style Hive. I am in LOVE with these Cherry Blossom twigs (bottom row left and middle) from White Aisle . What great color these favor boxes will add to your table!
How gorgeous are these pink pearl earrings for your Bridesmaids? They are from Blue Nile for $50. They would be a great accent to these gorgeous Amsale bridesmaids dresses. Your bouquet could be soft peonies, like these from Peonies and Polaroids.

I hope these give you some inspiration!!
