Irene + Ben | Bay 7 Enchanted Forest Wedding | Durham Wedding Planner

Vintage Engagement Ring

Urban chic meets Greek heritage — do they go together? Absolutely! When Irene, who herself is the epitome of “cool” , came to us with a vision for bringing an organic vibe to an industry space in the heart of downtown Durham, North Carolina, we were giddy with excitement. Pulling element from her traditional Greek roots through a mix of lush greenery accents, a beautiful Orthodox ceremony, and combining it with inspiration from the couple’s favorite Manhattan eatery, translated into a magical evening at Bay 7!

Headtable Design Greenery

Irene and Ben are avid travelers, but of all the places they have been Manhattan has their heart. There they love a tiny little restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle that brings a lush garden indoors. We took that idea and dreamt up an enchanted garden — oh yea, and inverting it. As guests entered Bay 7 they were immersed in a garden overhead.

As they dined on the delicious eats of the famous Angus Barn, the glow of candle light and organic arrangements floating from the ceiling, Ben and Irene‘s favorite song was preformed by artist Dawn Landes, a surprise gift from the bride to her new husband.

Sarah + John | Blush + Gold Bay 7 Wedding | Durham Wedding Planner

Ah! What can I say about this couple except that they were such a pleasure to spend the last year planning with! Sarah has such a kind heart and her relationship with John was just as soft and sweet as the blush and gold tones she chose for their wedding day. From the gold lined envelopes to the gold foil cocktail napkins, each detail was chosen with thoughtfulness. On their wedding day, Sarah and John were very traditional and chose to see each other for the first time as she was walking down the aisle. When they arrived to Bay 7 and John helped his new wife out of the car, you could see how much joy they had in their hearts!

Sarah’s bouquet by Fresh Affairs was overflowing with blush and ivory roses that smelled as lovely as they looked. Sarah had her sisters join her as her bridesmaids, wearing gorgeous blush lace gowns.

Kamala + Adrian’s Bay 7 Wedding – Durham Wedding Planner

This fashionista Bride’s vision for her wedding day was very simple – it would be centered around her wedding gown. Vera, Vera, VERA, need we say more?! With a couple trips to Vera Wang’s Bridal House in Manhattan, Kamala chose an exquisite design, and it was a show stopper. Kamala opted for a soft color palate throughout her wedding design to compliment the couture gown.

We decided to bring in large hedges and added lounge spaces to soften the industrial feel of the space. These design elements combined with the pinks, golds, ivories and ample candlelight, brought the entire look together.

How fabulous is this sash Kamala added for her reception? It even had hints of pink incorporated into it!

The couple’s cake even mimicked the ruffles and style of Kamala’s gown! Cinda’s Creative Cakes did an excellent job of capturing the elegance of the dress in her design.

As always, it takes an amazing team of vendors to bring a couple’s perfect day to life. We would like to thank the follow vendors for their work on Kamala + Adrian’s wedding weekend!

Bay 7 Wedding- Durham Wedding Planner

Caitlin and Chris were married in March at this stunning Bay 7 wedding! I loved working with Caitlin! Such classic and elegant taste! The couple is based in DC and will be moving to London soon!

Caitlin and Chris were married under the Lucky Strike Tower. So cool!

Caitlin wanted it to feel as if it was a dinner party at her home. Because of the large guest count we mixed the table shapes and sizes, hung chandeliers and had a lot of candle light!

Chris and Caitlin are big foodies. Chris loves Enteman’s donut holes and Caitlin loves the cheese plate after dinner (my kind of girl!) So we brought both out after dinner. As guests left the reception they were greeted by the Only Burger truck. Delish!

The newlywed’s went on stage at the end of the night while Chris sang “You Shook Me All Night Long.” It was fantastic!! What a great celebration of such a great couple!

Bridal Buzz- Bay 7

We had a great time at The Bridal Buzz show this past February. The bridal show took place at one of our favorite reception venues in Durham, Bay 7. This gorgeous venue was the perfect spot for a bridal show all about “the urban chic bride.” Thanks to Dara Blakeley Photography for this shot of our booth.
This was for the “urban chic” bride. It was such a fantastic group of vendors who brought style and creativity to this stunning show!

We met such wonderful brides and cannot wait to work with you!

For our booth design we wanted our booth be natural tones and textures, that also our found in our logo and on our website.  I love working with Neutral tones like tans, cremes, browns, and greens. It is so important to mix different textures in this palate so that it is interesting to the eye. I found these fabulous chandeliers from Anthopoligie and these flowers were created by the English Garden.

I can’t wait for next year!

xoxo, Erin

Bay 7 Wedding

Jordan and Mindy were married in the heart of downtown Durham at Bay 7 this past September. Bay 7 is a popular wedding venue, as it offers a chic urban backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions. This turned out to be the perfect venue for the ceremony and reception of photographers Jordan and Mindy who wanted to mix fun, whimsical aspects with traditional elements for a memorable day that was truly their own.
The groom and his groomsmen all sported colorful Converse sneakers with vibrant matching ties.
Mindy and Jordan chose to see each other before the ceremony. This romantic moment allows the bride and groom time to connect before their big moment. Plus it makes for some really sweet photographs thanks to JAGG Photography.
The bride and groom found these vintage doors at an antique shop. Decorated with gorgeous floral wreathes they make the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. After the wedding Jordan and Mindy are using these in their home. What a creative way to remember their wedding day.
Greg Warren Flowers created these beautiful bouquets for Mindy and her bridesmaids. They are the perfect colorful contrast against the bridesmaids’ classy little black dresses.

When Jordan proposed to Mindy he first gave her a ring pop before presenting the real ring. As a surprise for Jordan at the end of the ceremony, Mindy had the ring bearer come back down the aisle with ring pops for both her and Jordan. What a sweet surprise!
Mindy and Jordan didn’t want a particular color scheme. Rather, they wanted to let their creative and fun loving side show by incorporating a variety of colors into both their wedding and reception. From the vivid bridesmaids’ bouquets and wild flower centerpieces to the eye-catching candy bar, pops of color were carried throughout Mindy and Jordan’s big day.

The idea of featuring several smaller cakes of different flavors with complimentary designs is a growing trend among brides and their wedding guests who love the delicious dessert options.
Bay 7’s prime location in the historic district of Downtown offers a great location for some amazing photography of this Durham wedding.

Keeping with their fun colorful theme, the bride and groom had a balloon send off from their reception.

Congratulations Mindy & Jordan!
